March 9 - April 17, 2026, Tuesdays at 7 p.m. CST
Designed for Lutheran church and school leaders, current and aspiring Christian nonprofit leaders and lay professionals in leadership but open to anyone, this course shows participants how to apply biblical wisdom and classical discernment to faithful decision-making. Starting with the fear of the Lord as the beginning of wisdom, participants will be invited to explore humility and discernment, seeking and learning from wise counsel, how navigate leadership at the intersection of secular knowledge and biblical wisdom, the role of prayer and decision-making, and more. While not a prerequisite, this course builds upon some of the foundational biblical concepts introduced in the Studia Vitae course, Biblical Foundations for Classical Christian Leadership.
Course Objectives
- Confess the fear of the Lord as the beginning of wisdom, receiving wisdom as God’s instruction given through His Word.
- Learn to seek and judge counsel rightly, practicing humility while testing human advice against Holy Scripture.
- Learn how the Christian tradition has received and employed secular learning (“plundering the Egyptians”) and apply this faithfully within Christian leadership.
- Understand the role of the Book of Proverbs in forming wise judgment, recognizing proverbial wisdom as God’s gift for life in the world.
- Practice decision-making ordered by prayer and God’s promises, trusting His providence while acting faithfully within one’s calling.
